The program offers organizations the funding, official designation, capacity-building training, and ongoing consultancy to lead high-impact, high-visibility youth service activities and celebration events for Global Youth Service Day.

As the official organizer of Global Youth Service Day in their region, GYSD Lead Agencies are a vital part of creating a culture where young people have the opportunities and support to create positive change in their communities. 
Program Benefits:
A State Farm® funded planning grant of $1,000, $2,000, or $3,000.
Ongoing capacity-building trainings, resources, newsletters and webinars.
Flexible program requirements which are customizable to each organization’s priorities, issue areas, size/capacity, and needs.
Networking opportunities with other Lead Agencies.
Access to YSA Grants and YSA Resources, including preference for your organization in YSA’s Grant programs.
Membership in the Global Youth Service Network.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the leader of Global Youth Service Day 2015 in your locale (city, region, or state).
Convene and coordinate multi-sector GYSD partnerships, including youth leaders, to plan and implement your GYSD activities.
Collaborate with your GYSD partners to organize a signature GYSD project and/or GYSD celebration event.
Engage a minimum number of youth volunteers (see eligibility requirements) in meaningful service projects during GYSD, April 17 - 19, 2015.
Leverage your GYSD Lead Agency status and GYSD events to increase public awareness of the positive role young people can play in effecting community change, not only on GYSD, but year-round.
Promote your GYSD activities through media and social media and to community leaders and public officials.
Track and report impact on the scale, diversity, visibility, youth outcomes, and community outcomes of your GYSD activities.
Build and strengthen the capacity building area(s) you identify in your Lead Agency application.
Eligibility:
Nonprofit organizations located in the United States and select Canadian provinces are eligible.
